Garden of Gears Hold Off Topeka Train Robbers 7-6

March 11 2018 Garden of Gears scored three times in the third inning and added two more in the fourth to defeat the Topeka Train Robbers 7-6. Garden of Gears finished with 13 hits while Topeka collected eight.

Topeka opened the scoring with two runs in the first inning, including Manny Lujan’s two-run home run. The Train Robbers added a run in the second to take a 3-0 lead before Garden of Gears answered with a four-run third. Garden added two runs in the fourth and one in the seventh, while Topeka’s final three runs came in the sixth inning.

Jackson Webb led Garden of Gears with two hits, two runs and two RBI. Chance Randall went 3-for-4 and Mykol Martinez also had three hits, while Marcos Corrales scored twice and reached base on two walks. Lujan finished with a home run and two RBI for Topeka, and Eduardo Bosseloo went 2-for-4 with two hits and two runs.

Brennen Stelly earned the win for Garden of Gears after allowing eight hits and six runs, four earned, in seven innings. He walked five and struck out two. Ian Horne took the loss for Topeka after surrendering six runs, four earned, on eight hits in four innings, with three walks and one strikeout. Julian Parra worked three innings and allowed one run on five hits.
